I'm not a particular fan of CNN but this journalist is one of the few I think comes with as balanced perspective as possible. Fareed Zakaria shares a history lesson on Haiti here. Haiti was in certainly in trouble before the earth quake and this article found here will outline this. Finally, in a short video, Naomi Klein speaks to how the disaster can be used to advanced US capitalist ambitions (video on shock doctrine found on one of my older posts). Let us hope for the sake of the Haitian people the world focus and aid leads to a brighter future and not the continued shroud of darkness as it is encountering now.
