"Yes We Can"... and it's about time

Most industrial nations have a medicare type of program. Whether it is administered in whole or in part by government services or private is another debate but FINALLY all Americans will soon have health care. Up to seventy-five million have no health care or are under insured in that country. So for those who have been waiting to see a program Obama promised...it's their time to celebrate. You can catch Obama's speech here. For a list of immediate benefits, take a look at this short article.

  1. wow! Obama said a lot of "thank you" in that speech lol. i don't know why but i like number 10. "AND no more rescissions. Effective immediately, you can't lose your insurance because you get sick". Anyways all i can say Its about dang time, man Obama is slow but he got the job done. But i gotta say if he any other big decision he has to make i wouldn t hold my breath for the answer.

  2. American politics is disgusting. The fact that they spent a YEAR >>>DEBATING<<< this is just childish and stupid. "Hey guys, let's just sit around and argue while we're going through an economic downturn because we're too stubborn to admit another person's idea is right!" <typical republican ideal, by the way.

All of my emotion aside, this is really a great step in the right direction, and you can easily tell Obama doesn't like the health insurance companies at all. I suspect that we might actually have a hope of seeing health insurance companies all go out of business in the next few decades (one can only hope, right?), maybe we could get some criminal prosecution involved to speed things up, because anything short of capital murder isn't enough of a charge for these companies.

    Kudos to Obama though.

  3. I'm glad to see this finally happening. A lot of people have been giving Obama a hard time for not living up to his promises, but let's face it, the way the government is set up down there he's got a lot of resistance when he tries to do anything.

An unexpected downside: if American's get health care equal to ours are we going to lose our bragging rights?
