This blog is a result of many students wishing to delve into topics lightly discussed due to curricular demands but would like to investigate further. I am fortunate to teach students who want to challenge conventional wisdom and seek further discourse as a way to empower themselves to help shape the world they live in.

Using Lego to shape ideas ... of hope
In this short video Hans Rosling uses lego to chart population growth and trends. What I appreciated most was his message of hope for a better future. Take a look, let me know what you think!
I really enjoy this little clip. I enjoyed it when we first watched it in class and again just now. Rosling has a great way of discribing the world's economic growth through use of lego and he is right. Its hard to believe that the west makes up so little of the worlds population when it seems so powerful and wealthy. Or is it just a mask? Are we really as powerful and rich as we think we are? I agree with Rosling about wanting to leave the world to our children with less diversity in riches... I jsut wish that it could happen now, while we are alive.
