... I should have thought of that myself! You know, I usually don't waste my time with the tea party wacko right wing of the US but this is special. She has a three part plan to 'fix' things in the US: 1. Lower spending; 2. Develop fossil fuels (incredible); and, 3. Pray for Guidance. Perhaps we can forward this message to our own politicians to fix things here at home? Sound like a plan? View the 2 minute video here. Just added, I had to laugh at this one, for the 2 minute speech, she was using, get this...a cheat sheet!

What else can you expect from someone who believes the world is 6000 years old?
ReplyDeleteYou have to wonder what the republican party is thinking electing to choose her as their 'vice-president in the first place. I mean, she can't even remember her own political standpoint on such simple policy issues as the economic crisis (not that her view is a very complex one anyways), and she was a candidate for the second-highest office in the US? Give me a break.
It's a sad, sad state the republican party is in. It's going to take a non-religious non-nutcase leader (haha, good joke right?) to get this party back into a position of power in the states. For logic's sake, let's hope that doesn't happen soon.
though i certainly find the cheat sheet amusing, and i also believe Sarah Palin is rediculous, i dont see the big issue of writing a few key points on her hand to keep her thoughts gathered and her conversation on topic. we've all done it at one point in time.

ReplyDeleteSarah Palin seems to have forgotten the "Establishment Clause" in the American Constitution (ironic, seeing how many times she points to the document in her keynote speech). The most disturbing part of her speech was when Palin declared that America should "...not be afraid to go back to some of our roots as a God fearing nation"; and then goes on to say "... [America needs] to have individuals who aren't afraid to go that route [of religious intervention], not so afraid of the political correctness...and what the media would say...if they were to proclaim their reliance on our Creator" Ma'am it's not about political correctness, it's not about media scrutiny (which she also points to), it's about the American Constitution. It's about the supreme law and fundamental beliefs that your country was founded upon. The Establishment Clause states that "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion". The American founding fathers understood what religious intervention could lead to. They saw the intolerance and persecution that The Church of England had forced upon those who objected. They witnessed the favorable treatment the Church was receiving, and the inequality it was creating.
ReplyDeleteIt seems to me that Sarah Palin is just nit-picking her way through the Constitution. She agrees with limited government, and disagrees with "taxation without representation"; but when it comes to "separation of Church and State", she argues that in times of crisis, we need to "seek divine intervention". It is unimaginable how she could have had the courage to say that, even after declaring that "The Constitution will make a stronger Union". A God fearing leader is no leader at all.
"I can see Russia from my house!"
ReplyDeleteSarah...maybe instead of your hand you could use a cue card, considering that is why they were invented (note the name)! They are also a little more professional, you do want to make an impression to all of America, don't you?
