This blog is a result of many students wishing to delve into topics lightly discussed due to curricular demands but would like to investigate further. I am fortunate to teach students who want to challenge conventional wisdom and seek further discourse as a way to empower themselves to help shape the world they live in.

EPA - Let's just change the rules!
About four and a half minutes into the Rachel Maddow show an Obama EPA administrator enters and is interviewed for a few minutes. Apparently, the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) is scrapping the website that contained information about climate change and other environmental impacts on people. This was bought data from the American people. What is the implication of this? I think Voltaire must be spinning in his grave!

Canada’s Founding Myths Hold Us Back from Addressing Climate Change
It is indeed difficult at best to think about a world without carbon output yet our future counts on it. How does this article by Naomi Klein speak to how we are trapped by our history to change. How do we 'reconcile' our treatment of the environment and those effected by it and our thirst for wealth creation? Would love to hear your thoughts on this.
Double Standard for US Weapons Sales
There is no doubt that this article and video features the double standard when it comes to weapons sales. The US accuses Russia of supporting the Assad regime in Syria whereas the white house spokesman was struggling to justify Saudi supported weapons sales. What is your take on what's happening? What strikes you as similar about the situations yet unique? How should western countries respond to these conflicts?
