This blog is a result of many students wishing to delve into topics lightly discussed due to curricular demands but would like to investigate further. I am fortunate to teach students who want to challenge conventional wisdom and seek further discourse as a way to empower themselves to help shape the world they live in.

A different view of being rich....
Thank you to my very wonderful student Jennifer M. for sharing this link with me and the class today. What lesson does this short video teach us? Can we our deeds to the value of what we are? Can we call giving a currency and attach a value? Love your thoughts on this short video that you can find here.

Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway sees record profit
As we begin our trek into the economic ideologies of social 30, this article caught my eye. Warren Buffet is a billionaire who questioned the idea he gets to pay less taxes as a rate than his secretary (article). Well, Mr. Buffet's back in the use in this article here. We have discussed Liberalism (especially classical liberalism) and in context of our discussion, what position would you take on taxes? How can taxes have a bearing on how liberalism is played out, or not, in our society? Love to hear your views.
